Much Reviled Chaser LM Manages to Win at Grand Valley!!

I had previously lost the Grand Valley 300 with the Chaser LM. Nobody seemed particularly suprised; many people seemed suprised I bothered to try racing this car at all. Well, I now figure mastering this car sits there as a challenge once someone has made most of the rest of the game seem easy.

Once you learn to drive, it is capable of winning the USvsJP and UKvsJP series, and represents a cheap way of breaking into those series and all the wonderful prizes they give. It seems the car could be part of a "minimal" strategy for winning all gold race cups, although actually it seems any tuned car capable of winning the Tuned ("Abnormal") can win the International Series too...

I had an early fight for the lead, and got the lead by lap 5. I lost it on my first pit stop, but regained it by lap 15. I lost the lead at my second pit stop, too, mostly because a severe mishap entering the pit lane cost me about ten seconds.

I got the lead again on lap 24, and retained it after my stop on lap 30.

When I pitted at lap 40, I had caught the Primera, but not quite passed it. The Primera pitted on my lap 43, so I passed it then.

By laps fifty I had a strong, though not enormous, lead, and I motored on to a very pleasant victory. It was nice to win with a car I had previously found so difficult to control, especially against a reasonably strong field.

I won Cr300,000, and a black/green Castrol Supra GT.

I saved the setting.

              My Settings                     Default

   Spring Rate     9.0   4.5                 9.6   4.5

          FD        3.300                     3.769

   Aero            0.70  0.94                 ?      ?

(max, not quite max)

After this, I did a few time trials of Grand Valley with a raced-maxed FTO GP Version R. However, I only managed:

               1:49.523   +   1:41.999   =    3:31.522

So I don't think that car is a contender. Not if I'm driving, anyway. 8-)

I did record all sixty lap times for the Chaser LM, but will not enter them at this time, so I can enter one other set of Grand Valley 300 Results.
